![]() ![]() ![]() If you're looking for something different, and a whole lot cheaper this week, turn your attention to “Warp” (360, PS3, PC rated Mature). The game also adds fighter entrances and a revamped career mode, on top of a new submissions system. In addition to a deep roster that includes the UFC's new 135- and 145-pound divisions, “Undisputed 3” features PRIDE mode, allowing you to compete in the trademark white ring of the legendary Japanese MMA organization using many of the notable fighters of its era. The action seems to flow at a much more natural pace that results in more realistic and satisfying fights. I was turned off by the 2010 edition of “Undisputed,” but after playing the new game's demo (way too much) I think it's back on track. That would be “UFC Undisputed 3,” (360, PS3 rated Teen) a mixed martial arts franchise that was on hiatus in 2011 as its developers used that time to make a number of improvements. “Twisted Metal” isn't even my most anticipated game of the week. It deserves a big PS3 release, so I'm glad that's finally happening. It's probably the nostalgia talking, but I'm really excited to see how this latest “Twisted Metal” pans out after so many years away from the franchise. Highly destructible environments and an assortment of power-ups keep things unpredictable. The new “Twisted Metal” packs in more than a dozen vehicles and just as many battlegrounds, as you fight through a story mode (that involves you competing to win the Twisted Metal Tournament) or in online matches that support up to 16 players. ![]() Not every game lets you get behind the wheel of bizarre, heavily armed vehicles and encourages you to unleash your inner lunatic. If you enjoy shooters and somehow never tried the series, you're missing out. What unfortunate timing.įirst up is the rebirth of “Twisted Metal” (PS3 rated Mature), the demented and popular car combat franchise that dates to the original PlayStation. Also, a lot of smoke and fire emanating from a fresh batch of violent video games. ![]()
